K's Must Haves From Trader Joe's

Oh, how I love to grocery shop.

It’s one of those eccentric things about myself that I don’t tell many people - well, until now anyway. One of my favorite places to shop for the week is Trader Joe’s. I love the culture, the California vibe, and the cost, of course.

Here are my favorite items to pick up…

Cauliflower Gnocchi. I am Italian and pasta is my love language. Unfortunately like most things, when mass-produced, it is not all created equal. I love this plant-powered alternative for a lot of reasons, but most because of how simple it is to prepare.

Green Goddess Salad Dressing. I’ve heard that this is one of the lesser-known gems and I wish that more people were talking about it. Clean ingredients and a delicious taste. I’ll even pour some of this into a small bowl to dip some veggies in for a snack.

Coconut Creamer. I’ve always struggled with almond milk in my coffee because of its more watery consistency. This changed the game. I really enjoy the hint of coconut flavor and how it avoids separation, unlike other plant-based milks.

Cauliflower Pizza. A box pizza as a last resort seems a little less terrible for you when the crust is cauliflower. Incredibly easy to prepare, this pizza is great for a late night or an easy dinner. I really enjoy the texture of the crust.

Sipping Chocolate. This item is seasonal, so when it hits the shelves it goes quickly. Inspired by a European tradition, sipping chocolate is a rich delicacy (similar to cuban coffee or espresso). Its concentrated flavor can be best enjoyed when sipped. Instead, I add it to my coffee to deepen the flavor and add a richness to my morning cup.

Teeny Tiny Avocados. I love these little guys for a single serving. They are the perfect size for your morning avocado toast! (TKF Tip: make sure you choose a bag with varying degrees of green skins, that way your avos won’t all ripen together!)

Unsweetened Organic Acai Packets. Acai packs a bunch of antioxidant properties. These packets make your daily smoothie so much easier, and they have zero grams of sugar.

Organic Pea Protein Powder. I try to stick with plant-based protein. I have the vanilla flavor and I really enjoy it!

Organic Coconut Aminos. The most delicious alternative to soy sauce. I love using this for cauliflower fried rice. It’s lower in sodium and created from coconuts rather than soy.

Everything But Bagel Seasoning. True to it’s name, I love sprinkling this on top of my avocado toast or on top of some fiber crackers slathered with veggie cream cheese. Absolutely a staple in my home.

Ghee. Also known as clarified butter. Also known as nectar of the gods. Also known as butter with more nutrients and higher fat content. Thank me later.
