I have to be honest and say that the vast majority of my vacations as a young child weren’t all that adventurous.
We went to Disney World a lot, and traveled to a few other popular destinations on the East Coast. My venturings across the pond began when I was fourteen years old because my Dad was convinced that my appreciation for the things the world had to offer would only be activated once I wasn’t a little girl anymore - although, I was always a little girl to him.
I’ve traveled to Vienna, Dublin, Rome, London, Frankfurt, Salzburg, and many others. Throughout those travels, I’ve managed to capsulize my list of essentials for your summer getaway.
With the summer months in full swing, here are my must-haves for a summer adventure - wherever you may touch down.
Sunscreen. I love my freckles especially when they’re accompanied by a good sun-kissed glow, but a bad sunburn can really put a damper on your trip. I always opt for a mineral sunscreen, because the ingredients really work to create a barrier against those UV Rays - even on cloudy days.
T-Shirt Dress. T-Shirt dresses travel well and are typically are made of breathable material, making the seamless transition from day to evening. Dress it down by pairing it alongside some cute white sneakers or a denim jacket or add some polish with a solid belt, and a crisp Panama Hat.
Oversized Wrap Scarf. This is a piece that travels with me no matter the destination. It’s perfect to have to simply throw around yourself when you’re chilly on an airplane or as a final touch for a monochromatic look while heading out to dinner.
Stackable Bracelets. I love small touches like this that add a pop of arm candy to any look. I tend to stick with thinner bracelets since I have smaller wrists, but little embellishments like a stack of cute bracelets can add a little something extra to any occasion.
A Statement One-Piece Suit. Your summer uniform can be a statement one piece accessorized accordingly. I love the return of this trend, and how personalized they’ve all become! Transition easily from sand to siesta by layering underneath a linen palazzo pant or some high waisted denim shorts.
A Really Good Page Turner. If you’ve been with me for a while, it’s no secret that I love a good book. While I typically refer to bestseller lists to gather my page-turning plus ones for a trip, there’s something marvelous about a cheeky chapter (or twelve).
Safe travels, my loves…
