My manicures can be described in one word: neutral.
For my nails, I tend to stick to what I know works - light pinks, rosy mauves, and various shades of greige. Occasionally I’ll go with a classic red or a deep dark burgundy, but for the most part I tend to stay inside my carefully crafted box of like, six neutral shades with the gel equivalent numbers listed in my phone (you’re laughing, because you do it too).
However, this fall another color has caught my eye and although it’s a little outside of my comfort zone, I cannot stop wearing it.
I’m in love with Essie Couture #76 Closing time. I paint two coats on my nails and top it with Essie Couture’s clear top coat. A dupe for this that’s less expensive is Sally Hansen’s Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Retrograde. I typically use three coats of this and then top it with Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat.
It’s an extremely deep gray with a purple/blue undertone. It dries darker than it appears in the bottle, and it just has me looking at my hands nonstop! If you’re looking for a deep fall neutral, be sure to pick one of these up:)
