Autumn Reading List

Kelliann DeCarlo

I hate the be the bearer of bad news, but the rumors are true - we're turning away from the sun. Sometimes I find that fall can arrives accompanied alongside feelings of melancholy.

However, this time of year comes with its own charms and one of those charms is cozy-ing up with a good book and a golden milk latte under a soft plush blanket with your dogs at your feet. How dreamy, right? I don't have a fireplace, but you can sure if I did that it would be ablaze. Here are my three favorites for fall:

Autumn Reading List

Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis

I don't know many ladies who haven't heard of this manifesto at this point but, if you haven't, I'm happy to be the one to bring this magnificent motivational masterpiece to your attention. Rachel Hollis is your new best friend. In this book, she serves strong doses of tough love, compassionate empathy, and conversational motivation. She manages to light a fire under your a** without making it feel like a pinterest-board (although, if that's your thing, this book will work for you too.) This is a good one, ladies. Just take my word for it.

Crazy Rich Asians

This summer box-office smash is a fantastic and well-paced read - although, I always recommend to read the book first (I'm a purist, what can I say?) It's the first of a trilogy, and I believe the second part of the trilogy already has a movie-deal in the works. I'm also pretty embarrassed to say that it's written about a culture that I had little-to-no knowledge about - I love it, and I think you will too.

The Last Mrs. Parrish

If you loved Gone Girl, you will love this thriller. I don't exaggerate when I say that I was on the edge of my seat for two days straight. Every corner had twists and turns that I genuinely didn't see coming. Shout out to my girl, Jess, for the recommendation!  I literally couldn't put it down.

Love on love,
