Kendall and I met just in the way you’d think two friends in the wellness space would meet: a pageant stage.
It’s actually not as uncommon as you might think, and nationals doesn’t know what they missed (hehe). The pageant world holds some of the most mindful, health-conscious, intelligent women I’ve ever met, even to this day.
Kendall is all of that and a bag of lemons.
This lady radiates her innate love of wellness and giving. She works as a certified holistic health and nutrition coach with one goal in mind: to help other women look and feel their best.
As a former fitness instructor who has recently retired her spin shoes, she hass spent her past year taking steps to combat hormonal imbalance, and do everything she can to achieve a “balanced, happy, and holistic life.”
Kendall is one of the kindest, funniest, most down-to-earth women I have the pleasure of knowing, and I cannot think of a more perfect person for our first tete-a-tete… Wee!
When did your wellness journey begin?
My wellness journey began while watching an episode of the Oprah show in 2009. They had Michael Pollan on, and he was discussing a new documentary called "Food Inc." I saw clips from the movie and that day cleared out my entire pantry of non-organic foods. That sparked my interest in learning where our food comes from, and ultimately put me on this path to greater wellness!
You’ve spoken a lot about experiencing burn-out. what was your ‘aha’-moment? once you experienced that moment, What were the first steps you took to begin the healing process?
My "aha" moment was when I found myself in the emergency room in excruciating pain from a three week-long migraine. I knew in that moment something had to give and deep down I knew it was my job. I tried every other holistic and western medicine practice I knew and nothing worked. The following week I put in my notice at work, and the migraines instantly went away.
It’s funny how our bodies send us feedback all of the time, yet we rarely listen. If you keep ignoring the messages, they will get so loud you have no choice but to respond.

What book has made a strong impact on your life?
Ask and It is Given by Abraham and Esther Hicks.
It's definitely a little woo-woo, but it changes my life time and time again. It discusses all about the power of thoughts and manifesting. I think it should be required reading by everyone!
You’ve had a crazy journey that has been focused on healing and balancing your hormones. What would you say is the biggest takeaway from that journey?
That women, at our very core, are balanced, emotionally stable, strong beings. We have been fed this story of women being emotionally unstable and unfit for certain jobs or work, because we can't handle our emotions. I believe the problem is that we were never taught to know how to leverage our hormones and cycle to use as our superpower.
Instead we've suppressed everything by adding external hormones that contribute to the collective story of emotionally unstable women. Men would be just as "unstable” if they were taking hefty doses of testosterone every day, too.
In our natural state, without outside influences on our bodies, we are perfect.
What is your coffee order? Cocktail of choice?
Definitely an almond milk latte with cinnamon on top.
Is wine considered a cocktail!? I would say a Casamigos margarita, but my cocktails tend to go with the seasons, so it's always changing.
What is your favorite part of coaching others?
Oh man… watching the transformation from week to week. When we start working together, there is a certain look in their eyes. By the third week, they look like an entirely different person - they are literally glowing!
I've even asked clients before if they were pregnant, because they were radiating. It's crazy! I think there's an amazing shift, energetically, that happens in someone's life when they focus on themselves.
What is one thing in your morning routine that is a non-negotiable?
Meditation. It’s so obvious when I don't meditate. If shit starts hitting the fan and I'm questioning what in the hell is going on, I immediately ask myself if I meditated that morning - chances are, I didn't. So I have to make it a priority, so everything else can fall into place.
The holidays are coming up! What is one thing that someone could do to ensure they stay on track?
I would say avoid carbs in the morning.
Honestly it seems so simple, but if you can reduce your carbohydrate intake for one meal throughout this carb-heavy season, you'll be doing yourself quite the favor. Intermittent fasting, if it works for you, is also a great way to help your body reset each day and use up any excess stores of energy.
If you could fall off the grid for one week, where would you jet-set to?
Aruba. I love the beach, I love Aruba, and if I'm going to fall off the grid, I want to make sure I'm somewhere where it’s 85 and sunny! HA!
