A Beauty Routine For When You're Not Quite Feeling Yourself

As the seasons change, I have days where I’m a little under the weather.

It’s darker in the mornings and in the evenings, colder winds replace summer breezes, and the ever-looming holiday stresses can affect more than our closets and our wallets. Taking the time, especially on days like that, to couple small actions - like putting yourself together, even at the minimum - can make a big difference in your day.

Here is how I get ready when I simply don’t feel like it:

  1. SPF. Less sunlight doesn’t necessarily mean less protection. Being as vigilant during the winter as you (hopefully) are during the summer months will go a long way with your skin. I enjoy this tinted moisturizer because it has a hint of color and protects my skin.

  2. Cream Blush. In an effort to bring some natural vitality to the skin, a cream blush applied directly to the cheekbone helps to provide a natural, healthy flush. I’m currently obsessed with this one by Honest Beauty.

  3. Mascara. A simple swipe of mascara can help to open the eye, making you look more awake and more put together. This one by Essence is really effective and does this trick in two coats.

  4. Brow Gel. When I’m feeling less than my best, the last thing I want to do is to spend time meticulously filling in my brows. Unfortunately, they’re pretty vital in framing my face. That’s where this brow gel comes in handy.

Add a lip balm, grab my things, and I’m out the door.
