Some would say that hustle is my love language.
Lately, I’ve been putting my energy into hustling differently. I’m still auditioning and submitting for jobs nightly. I’m still editing my resume within an inch of its life. I’m still submitting to at least three agents a week and following up and trying to get seen whenever or wherever I can, but I’m also hustling for something different: joy.
I got to thinking, recently, about what my life would look like if I channeled the same energy I put into finding my next show, into hustling for one thing a day that would bring me joy? These small hustles don’t have to break the bank and, in a small way, help to make me mindful of the little things in life that bring a smile to your face or make you feel like you have it all together.
Here are ten ways you can Hustle for Joy:
Buy a cute water bottle and use that to hydrate you everyday.
Take your lunch break outside, and go for a walk.
Give yourself an extra 30 minutes every morning to read the book you’re loving.
Declutter your nightstand.
Get a manicure.
Put unsweetened cocoa in your coffee.
Get a cute planner and use it to organize your life, (I love my Erin Condren.)
Take your Sunday to figure out your week and plan for it accordingly.
Meal prep food you actually like.
Write down 5 things you’re grateful for every night.
